Heidelberg Materials Devnya and Devnya Municipality partnered up for a Volunteer Day at the Park

Employees from the plant and the head office of Heidelberg Materials Bulgaria took part in an organized volunteering campaign together with the staff of Devnya Municipality. Over 60 people in total divided into 4 teams performed various tasks in preparation for the Annual Folklore Festival that will be held on Saturday, June 22nd from 9:00am to the late hours of the evening in the city of Devnya.
The social initiative targeted to improve the local environment in the municipal park, the surrounding area, and the Pensioners’ Club in the city. Thuja shrubs were planted by the Technical Director of Heidelberg Materials Devnya, Giovanni Martinelli and the Mayor of Devnya Svilen Shitov, while the other teams painted the seating area of the open-air park theatre and the BBQ gazebo zone. Mayor Shitov expressed his gratitude for Heidelberg’s Helping Hands and invited all participants to enjoy the weekend folklore festival.
The corporate Volunteering Policy entitles each employee 1 day of paid leave for engaging in volunteering activities of choice.
